Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett to have second hip replacement surgery

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett is scheduled to have hip surgery late this month.

Barrett, 63, is set to have an Aug. 30 hip replacement surgery on his left hip. He had the procedure done in November on his right hip.

Barrett also previously had surgery in 2009 after he was beaten near State Fair Park when answering a woman's cries for help.

In that incident, Barrett's hand was shattered and was repaired in a three-hour surgery.
