The Golden Gate High School volleyball team won 3-0 over Estero in its final preseason match at home on Thursday night.

Golden Gate took the opening set 25-18, the second 25-18 and the final 25-22.

Cassie Desir led the Titans with 15 kills, Delaney Groos added 11 kills, Emily Erickson had 22 assists and Bianca Butler finished with 14 digs and seven assists.

“The girls came out hot and played well from start to finish. Our senior leadership showed up tonight. Bianca Butler played the role of the general out there in the back row calling shots, making digs, bringing the energy every point and keeping the team focused not let up off the gas pedal.  Our outside hitters Delaney Groos and Cassie Desir made some great shots all night. They switched up speeds and spots on the fly to catch the opponent off guard with well-placed attacks.  We played fast, we played hard and we played very well.  Great work by the girls going into season,” Golden Gate coach Anthony Santos said.

Golden Gate hosts First Baptist on Monday at 6:30 p.m. Estero hosts Island Coast on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

SEACREST 2, NAPLES 0: Naples dropped the first set 25-22 and the second 25-13. Lily Grasso finished with eight kills and six digs for the Golden Eagles. Sophie Sorbara had three kills, five assists and six digs, while Grace Watts finished with three blocks.
