Festival of Quilts

Last weekend was the Festival of Quilts at the NEC.  It is the best craft related show at the NEC each year.  I was very fortunate to win 2 free tickets from Storage4Crafts, one of which I gave to a friend.  Then after the Show opened I was offered another free ticket in return for sitting on The Granary Studio stand for a couple of hours.

As a consequence I went on Friday afternoon and again on Sunday.   Here are the quilts that caught my eye.  You may notice a couple of themes!
Tempus Fugit by Cherilyn Martin

House by Irina Voronina

Where there's a mine by Liz Hewitt

Fracture by Betty Busby

A Post-Truth Quilt by Sara Impey

If Nature Captures the City by Brigitte Kopp

Dialogues by Elly van Steenbeek

Good Intentions by Elly van Steenbeek

Big Brother by Lesley Brankin

Colour Study III by Sandra van Velzen

Fractured Squares by Hilary Jackson

White January by Lisbet Borggreen

Interpolations9 by Helen Howes

Summer Garden by Jean Wells

Ephuses by Jean Wells

After the Rain by Jean Wells

Cross Cut by Jean Wells

It Shouldn't Need To Be Said by Ellie Taylor

Penhelig by Susan Attwood

Volcano by Yvonne Kervinen

This Land is Barren & Broken by Liz Hewitt

Erasing History by Jo Coombes
So what did you notice?

Colour palette?  Lines & Squares?   Maps?  Text?

I found it very interesting to see what caught my eye.

Hope you enjoyed my view of the show.

Thanks for stopping by.

  1. LOVE your selection Bernice. I saw only a few of those and often couldn't get near enough to take photos. I loved the show too. My selection is on my blog. www.dorothyag.com.
