Sheboygan businessman may challenge Scott Walker for governor
Sheboygan businessman Kurt Kober said Thursday he is considering running as a Democrat for governor.
Kober is a retail strategy director for The Clorox Co., based in Oakland, Calif.
He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and has a master's degree in business from UW-Madison.
Kober also is co-founder of a San Francisco start-up, Red Clay, which is a platform that designs products for companies.
Kober said in a recent opinion piece in the Sheboygan Press that he is wary of Gov. Scott Walker's $3 billion package to attract Foxconn Technology Group. The company said it is planning to construct a $10 billion liquid crystal display plant at a yet-undisclosed site.
Announced Democratic candidates for governor are: Milwaukee businessman Andy Gronik and state Rep. Dana Wachs of Eau Claire.
