According to a news release from 11th District Ald. Mark Borkowski, at least 13 garages and cars were broken into overnight between midnight and 3 a.m. in the 2700 and 3000 blocks of S. 38th St. and S. 50th St.

Borkowski is "demanding greater police visibility" and states that he is disappointed in the proposal Mayor Tom Barrett made to trim police officers in the upcoming budget.

"This is not the time to cut police officers," Borkowski said. "Our residents feel vulnerable and we need to see more officers in our neighborhoods, not less."
