Wednesday was National Tell a Joke Day, and of course, people around Wisconsin joined in the fun.

Among the most popular jokes on social media was the one that the Bucks shared of Giannis Antetokounmpo from the Bucks' media day last year. The joke was probably popular because of the beloved Bucks player who told it, and not so much because of the joke itself and the delivery.

The American Heart Association put out some fruit-themed jokes on Twitter and Facebook that were "berry" funny.

Milwaukee's SafeHouse, the spy-themed restaurant set in the Cold War, told a joke dissing commies.

The University of Wisconsin Digital Collections also shared some old-school jokes, using a page from The Wisconsinite Magazine printed in the summer of 1928.

Milwaukee-area companies also got punny on Wednesday. Here's one from the CEO of Branigan Communications in Milwaukee.

Most companies told some jokes that had to do with their business, like this snow plow company...

... this #LawyerJoke from Hupy and Abraham.

Unfortunately, their competitors at Gruber Law didn't respond with a joke, which probably would have sounded something like this: "How many calls to Gruber Law Offices does it take to change a light bulb? One call, that's all."

And even more companies around Milwaukee had a joke to tell, including the accountant recruiters at BRI & Associates
