Ex-Packers Antonio Freeman, Santana Dotson to appear on Clubhouse Live

Left: Green Bay Packers wide receiver Antonio Freeman gestures for a first down after a long catch during Super Bowl XXXI in New Orleans on Jan. 26, 1997. Right: Packers defensive tackle Santana Dotson takes the line during training camp practice in 2000.

One finished his Green Bay Packers career with 57 touchdown receptions, including a bobble on a rainy Monday night that was famously improbable.

The other totaled 26 sacks during his days in Titletown and helped comprise one of the most formidable defensive lines in Packers history.

Both were teammates. Both are Super Bowl champions. And both will join us for our preseason editions of Clubhouse Live, USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin’s live, weekly and award-winning Packers show.

Former Packers wide receiver and Packers Hall of Famer Antonio Freeman will be the guest as part of our Aug. 28 season premiere. He’ll be followed by former Packers defensive tackle Santana Dotson, who is set to appear on our Sept. 4 show.

Clubhouse Live can be seen Mondays at 6:30 p.m. from The Clubhouse Sports Pub & Grill inside the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel in downtown Appleton and is hosted by me and colleagues Ricardo Arguello and Jen Zettel.

Can’t make it to a show in person? Then watch it live online at clubhouselive.com or facebook.com/packersnews.

Freeman’s memorable 81-yard TD reception against New England in Super Bowl XXXI – then a record – ranks as the second-longest pass play in Super Bowl history.

And his lunging, fortuitous grab and ensuing 43-yard TD dash against Minnesota in overtime to cap a crazy 26-20 victory over the rival Vikings at Lambeau Field in a Week 10 matchup in 2000 – a catch since dubbed as the “Improbable Bobble” – ranks as among the most unforgettable plays in franchise history.

Dotson, meanwhile, teamed with Reggie White, Gilbert Brown and Sean Jones in forming an imposing defensive line that helped trigger the Packers to a Super Bowl championship in 1996.

We’ll reminisce about Brett Favre, Mike Holmgren, White and some of the other characters of that memorable title team and look at what's ahead for the Packers in 2017 through a fun and interactive discussion.

Attend Clubhouse Live in person and register through Miller Lite to win tickets to the Sept. 28 game against the Chicago Bears at Lambeau Field, which will be given away at a later show. Plus, answer trivia questions for prizes.

Packers running back Ty Montgomery has agreed to be our regular co-host this season and will join the show Sept. 11.
