FHP: Car leaves after hitting motorcyclist who had fallen onto road in Bonita

A 28-year-old Texas motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run incident in Bonita Springs on Tuesday, state troopers said.

The photo was taken at Joshua Tree National Park. A narrow depth of field was used to take this photo at the ground level to emphasize and focus on one key area of the road, a metaphor for staying in the present, the blurred past and the unknown future and possibilities ahead.

Ryan Kinsey of El Paso was riding north on U.S. 41 south of Cedar Creek Drive at 11:47 p.m. when he fell off his motorcycle and onto the road, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

Kinsey came to a rest in the right lane of U.S. 41, the report states. His motorcycle came to a stop north of him in the right lane of U.S. 41 near Cedar Creek Drive.

A Ford Taurus traveling north in the right lane of U.S. 41 approaching Cedar Creek Drive then hit Kinsey, troopers said.

The car, described as tan or gray, continued north on U.S. 41, the report states.

Anyone with information about the incident, which remained under investigation Wednesday, is asked to call 239-344-1730.
