Police identify victim of Milwaukee north side homicide

Milwaukee police have identified the man who was shot and killed Tuesday afternoon on the city's north side. 

Joseph J. Benson was shot during a fight about 4 p.m. in the 4800 block of W. Hampton Ave., police said. He died at the scene.

Police believe there were witnesses and are asking that those people talk with detectives to help identify the shooter. Witnesses can call 414-935-7360. 

The Milwaukee County medical examiner's office will conduct the autopsy on Wednesday.
