Joey Votto is back to epically trolling fans again

Charles Curtis

Wasn't Joey Votto done with this whole trolling opposing fans thing?

After what he did on Monday night, it would appear he is not:

Okay, maybe that isn't "trolling" in the harshest sense of the word. The Cincinnati Reds first baseman is just having a little fun with Chicago Cubs fans - instead of tossing the foul ball gingerly to the crowd, he decided to chuck it out of Wrigley Field.

This is particularly interesting because Votto told our Ted Berg at the All-Star Game that he was done with the antics:

"Last year, I was trying to have some fun," Votto said at Marlins Park earlier this week, "and I realized that it's not much fun when you're on a losing ballclub. After a while, I just went back to the hotel or back to the house sour.

"It's no fun losing. Losing sucks. And we've lost too much of late. I have my good moments when we're winning, but you can't have a smile on your face when you're down 7-2, or something like that. It's embarrassing. I think it's embarrassing. This is what we get paid to do."

Those antics have included stomping on paper airplanes, heckling hecklers right back and faking out foul-ball tosses:

Welcome back, Heel Votto. We missed you!
