Did You Just Win a Bunch of Gold Passport Points and Vegas Experiences?

This past week Hyatt provided some really generous prizes — Gold Passport points and Las Vegas experiences to raise awareness of their new partnership with MGM’s 12 M Life hotels in Las Vegas.

Gold Passport members can earn and redeem points at a variety of Las Vegas hotels at various price points, I’m most interested personally in Vidara and Signature at MGM Grand though many will be intrigued by Bellagio.

In addition, stays at these hotels earn stays and nights towards elite status. Excalibur and Luxor in the middle of the week will provide some of the least expensive paths towards top tier elite status (my favorite program for suite upgrades, even without status and the best top tier elite breakfast benefit).

It’s a great partnership that fills a geographic gap for Hyatt (Las Vegas, also a gap for other chains as well) and could serve as a roadmap for future partnerships — it strikes me as being similar to airline codesharing, frequent flyer partnerships have opened up the world for mileage redemptions and deals like this one could ultimately do the same if expanded to other relationships. I’d love to see something like this for Hyatt in Europe..

This new relationship afforded me the opportunity to make on reader very, very happy. And with the help of Random.org I think I’ll have done that.

I asked folks to answer,

Where would you most want to redeem points in Vegas, and will anything ‘stay in Vegas’ on that trip?

The winning comment, was Ryan‘s which said:

Bellagio…and I guess the sentimental answer is my heart stays in Vegas!

Congratulations, Ryan! You’ll be hearing from me – and from Hyatt – shortly.
