Rory McIlroy's advice on dieting is simple

Luke Kerr-Dineen

CHARLOTTE - Since turning professional in 2007, Rory McIlroy has undergone a physical transformation, the kind you rarely see from somebody already established among the higher rungs of the game.

When he first arrived, working out and eating well wasn't a high priority, with his body fat hovering around 24 percent. In the space of three years, that figure dropped to less than 10 percent, with Rory today standing 5-foot-10 and 160 pounds of lean muscle.

How'd he do it? Through a commitment to a solid workout schedule and, as he revealed on Tuesday ahead of this week's PGA Championship, some not overly-complicated dieting habits:

"Everything in moderation is my motto. I don't cut out anything. If I feel I want some chocolate, I'll have some chocolate. If I want a burger, I'll have a burger, but I wouldn't have a burger every day. So everything in moderation. I'm not very strict with my diet. Probably should be a little more strict, if I'm honest, but you're allowed a treat every once in a while, so try to keep it like that."

Seems simple enough! Soon, we'll all be as ripped as Rory. Which, presumably, means we're all due for a flurry of major championship wins, too.
