Beginning June 20, 2013 a new partnership between Hyatt Gold Passport and MGM Resorts Las Vegas will expand Hyatt Gold Passport members earning and redeeming options in Las Vegas.

Key Benefits To Hyatt Gold Passport Members

There are a number of official key benefits, but I find the following most helpful for Hyatt Gold Passport members.

  • Reciprocal status (opt-in) with M Life and associated benefits (August)
    • Coming in August, Hyatt Gold Passport members will be
eligible to opt-in to a reciprocal tier status in MGM Resorts’
M life, providing benefits at participating MGM Resorts
      destinations.
  • Earn HGP for every dollar spent at MGM resorts
    • Hyatt Gold Passport members will receive Hyatt Gold
Passport points on every eligible dollar spent at the 12
participating MGM Resorts destinations in Las Vegas.
  • Stays count towards status
    • All eligible stays at any of the participating MGM Resorts
destinations in Las Vegas will count toward Hyatt Gold
      Passport tier status.
  • Redeem HGP points in Vegas at MGM properties
    • Hyatt Gold Passport members will be able to redeem their
Hyatt Gold Passport points for award nights at participating
MGM Resorts destinations in Las Vegas.

Bottom Line

It’s great to see Hyatt earning and redeeming options expand into Vegas through this partnership.

This opens up a few interesting questions like:

  • Will casino markers charged to the room earn points with Hyatt Gold Passport?
  • Are there any status matches or challenges with M Life that would then allow those members to reciprocate into Hyatt’s Platinum status?

  1. This of course comes after I spend an entire week at an MGM resort and charged a ridiculous amount of money to the room.

I wonder if they’ll give you credit for recent stays. 🙂

  2. Ps. This makes my favorite Vegas hotel, Vdara, an even better deal now that I can earn Hyatt points!
