Last Day for 10% off Hotels.com Coupon

As I mentioned last week, Hotels.com is offer 10% off reservations that are booked by end of day today, June 3, 2013. To receive this offer you must use code HOTELS10OFF. This code is valid for all reservations through September 30, 2013. This coupon is valid only for new hotel bookings, but if you have a reservation booked that you are able to cancel, feel free to cancel and re-book (just make sure your original reservation isn’t passed the cancellation date and the price hasn’t increased).

While 10% off is great, these codes seem to be a pretty regular occurrence hotels.com, so my assumption is another one will come out shortly if you are on the fence with a reservation.

The coupon excludes:

  • Package bookings
  • Bookings made through a group travel service
  • Bookings paid for at a hotel
  • Bookings paid for in a foreign currently
  • Bookings at non-participating hotels (you can check out excluded hotels here – mostly chain hotels)

The terms state that this offer is valid for the first 15,000 bookings, so the 10% off coupon code could always expire prior to end of day, but in the past this never seemed to be an issue when other 10% off codes were available.

Additionally, reservations using this coupon is NOT eligible for their Welcome Rewards program. Keep this in mind when making your reservation. The Hotels.com Welcome Rewards program gives you 1 free night after 10 paid nights, so essentially the same 10% off. So it is up to you on what is more valuable. I personally would prefer the 10% back now instead of hoping that I’ll earn enough rewards to get a free night eventually (which is valued at an average of your prior 10 nights). Last year I booked a few hotels through Hotels.com with a coupon code and still got nights towards my Welcome Rewards account, so there is always the chance they will still count.

Remember, you can also book through a cash back portals for extra savings. For example, Topcashback.com will give you 7% back, Bigcrumbs.com will give you 4.5% cash back, and Chase Ultimate Rewards will give you 4 points per dollar spent.
