I have written a couple of times about my stays at the Hilton Riverside in London – April 2013 and in 2012. Both were excellent stays in great feature rooms. Effectively a double upgrade.

My most recent stay elicited only a single upgrade to what was actually a pretty small room. As the other reviews mention, the hotel is in two parts – North and South with the North being a warehouse conversion. This is where the nicer room reside.

On this occasion in the newer, purpose build wing, I had a view of Canary Wharf:

As I was leaving too early for the restaurant, they arrange a breakfast bag as my HHonors Gold Breakfast, at no charge. The only issue is that you have pre-order it and go to collect it from Reception:

The next morning I was up with sun and a great view over Canary Wharf:

Overall
I realise that my two previous visits had been overshadowed by excellent room and that the disappointment in this stay was having an ordinary room!
