Naples Police investigate early morning break-in at jewelry store

Naples police are investigating after burglars broke into a jewelry store early Thursday and stole an undisclosed amount of valuables.

Officers responded to the store in the 2400 block of U.S. 41 North at 2:47 a.m. in reference to a reported glass break and multiple zone motion sensor alarms that had been set off, according to a Naples Police incident report.

Authorities found the main northeast exterior glass door entrance to the building "completely shattered" and discovered a "large amount of glass debris" inside and outside the exterior entrance floor, with shards leading all the way to the parking lot, the report stated.

Officers also found jewelry, such as rings and pearl sets, on the ground near the main entrance. The main interior business glass door entrance was also completely shattered, police said.

Inside the jewelry store, officers discovered numerous glass show cases shattered, "with missing contents inside," although it was unknown exactly how many items were missing or what the total value is, the report stated.

Police found glass debris "all over the interior business floor," but other than the shattered interior business and exterior building doors, there were no other "signs of forced entry," officers wrote.
