Bryce Harper throws furious tantrum at the ump

Andrew Joseph

Bryce Harper's second ejection of the season didn't quite match his brawl with Hunter Strickland, but it wasn't far behind in intensity.

Harper struck out swinging in the eighth inning on Wednesday, and he immediately turned to home plate umpire Chris Segal, kicking dirt in his direction.

Once Segal ejected Harper, the Nationals star slammed his bat to the ground and went off on Segal, who too didn't back down from Harper's up-close jawing.

Harper was upset about earlier calls in the at-bat, and his frustrations boiled over after the strikeout.

The argument got to the point that Harper needed to be physically restrained by his teammates. Yet, the Nationals would go on to win, 8-5, in Harper's absence.
