Wyndham has launched its new Wyndham Rewards Auctions, which lets folks redeem their points for fun experiences they would likely NOT pay for with cash.
I’ll show you what you can expect with Wyndham Rewards Auctions. And help you decide if it’s a good value!

Similar to SPG Moments and the IHG Share Summer promotion, you can now use Wyndham points for fun experiences instead of just hotel stays!
The new Wyndham Rewards Auction lets you bid on things like Jerry Seinfeld tickets, a getaway to Clearwater Beach, and LEGOLAND Florida VIP experiences. You can choose from categories like:
You can also view all auctions at once to quickly see if there’s anything you’re interested in. Here are the details:
- Only US residents can participate in the auctions
- Auctions are limited supply
- Your points will be deducted from your account automatically if you win an auction
- You can NOT resell any auction you win, but you can gift it to another person

Is This a Good Use of Wyndham Points?
Unfortunately, I don’t see any auctions with a “buy now” option. Because of this, it’s hard to say whether these auctions will be worth the points. The starting bids for the auctions are well worth the points, but it’s highly unlikely to sell for that price.
For example, the starting bid for 2 nights at the Wyndham Grand Chicago Riverfront and 2 tickets to Hamilton is just 6,000 Wyndham points.
Team member Jasmin took her kids to see Hamilton and paid just $65 per ticket. But tickets usually cost much more!
And 2 nights at the Wyndham Grand Chicago Riverfront can easily cost $350. So 6,000 Wyndham points for a ~$480 value is amazing. However, the auction ends in 21 days, so you can expect the price to increase.
Remember, you can book ANY Wyndham hotel in the world for just 15,000 points per night. Like all-inclusive beach resorts or other expensive hotels, like TRYP by Wyndham New York City Times Square South, which can sell for $450+ per night!

Wyndham points aren’t very easy to earn, because they’re not a transfer partner of any of the main transferable points programs. But you can earn lots of points by signing-up for one of the Barclaycards Wyndham Rewards cards!
With the annual-fee version of the Barclaycard Wyndham Rewards Visa, you’ll earn 30,000 bonus points after your first purchase. And an additional 15,000 bonus points after you spend $2,000 on purchases within the first 90 days of account opening.
And with the no-annual-fee Barclaycard Wyndham Rewards card, you’ll earn 15,000 bonus points after your first purchase. And an additional 3,000 bonus points after you spend $1,000 on purchases within the first 90 days of account opening.
Note: I do NOT recommend these cards for folks new to miles and points, because there are far better credit card sign-up bonuses for beginners!Bottom Line
You can now use your Wyndham points for fun and unique experiences through Wyndham Rewards Auctions.
There’s no “buy now” option for any of these auctions, so you’ll have to keep a close eye if you’re interested in scooping one up!
