Simi Valley man faces 11 years in prison

A Simi Valley man faces 11 years in prison after being found guilty Monday of injuring his spouse in 2015.

Ventura County prosecutors said Simi Valley police were called to a home along the Long Canyon Road around midnight on March 28, 2015, because of a domestic disturbance.

Prosecutors said police found Jeffrey Lindquist's spouse surrounded by neighbors when they arrived.

Investigators said the spouse had gone into a bedroom after an argument with Lindquist and that he broke down the door, injuring her. Lindquist then repeatedly punched her in the face, prosecutors said, "causing severe injuries that required surgery to repair."

When she tried to call 911, he destroyed her phone and forcibly removed her 8-year-old son from the home, injuring him, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors said Lindquist had abused two other spouses in Michigan and California.

Lindquist, 46, is scheduled to be sentenced at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 21 in Ventura County Superior Court, Room 27.
