Milk futures mostly lower, cash cheese steady

Class III milk futures at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange were mostly lower on technical selling and spread activity. August was down $.09 at $16.01, September was $.07 lower at $16.39, October held at $16.71, and November was down $.01 at $16.82.

Cash cheese blocks were unchanged at $1.7075. The last uncovered offer was for one load at $1.72. Barrels were steady at $1.41. Two loads were sold, one at $1.41 and one at $1.4125. The last unfilled bid was on one load at $1.41. The last uncovered offer was for one load at $1.42.

Butter held at $2.585. The last unfilled bid was on one load at $2.545. The last uncovered offer was for two loads at $2.6025.

Nonfat dry milk was down $.0025 at $.87. Seven loads were sold, including three at $.8725. The last unfilled bid was on two loads at $.87. The last uncovered offer was for one load at $.875.
