Badgers are favorites to win Big Ten's West Division, according to poll
MADISON – Wisconsin is the prohibitive favorite to win the Big Ten West Division title in 2017.
Yet most reporters who cover the Big Ten expect to see East Division champion Ohio State win the league championship game in Indianapolis.
UW received 31 of the 38 first-place votes in a poll conducted by Cleveland.com.
Only four voters picked UW to win the league title – three over Ohio State and one over defending champion Penn State.
Northwestern received five first-place votes and Nebraska received two.
The Buckeyes received 34 of 38 votes to win the East and 29 votes to win the league title – 22 over UW, five over Northwestern and two over Nebraska.
Five voters project UW to qualify for the College Football Playoff.
