Today, Citrix is pleased to announce a broader strategic collaboration with Google to help deliver secure, cloud-based applications to enterprise customers. Since 2010, we have worked together to deliver applications to Chrome devices and manage their Android deployments – but now we are aligning to help businesses solve their business requirements for secure digital workspaces in the cloud.

To be successful, organizations increasingly need to optimize and protect company and personal information. The world is rapidly transitioning to the cloud and our customers have been actively encouraging us to enable secure Citrix Workloads on Google Cloud Platform they can access from any device. Working together, Citrix and Google are bringing cloud delivery of applications and desktops and secure cloud-optimized endpoints to enterprise customers who are increasingly looking to public and hybrid clouds to address competitive demands and to solve business challenges.

To enable customers to fully embrace the secure benefits of flexibility and scale that the cloud offers, Citrix announced today that Google Cloud will be added to the Citrix Cloud offering. In addition to enabling Citrix Workspace Services to run on Google Cloud Platform, the expanded partnership also includes new integrations of ShareFile with G Suite, and enabling the vast Google developer community to utilize containers and the Kubernetes orchestration system with NetScaler CPX to easily build and scale secure applications in the cloud. We’re also continuing our ongoing Receiver for Chrome product alignment ensuring XenApp with Chrome OS devices remains a secure cloud endpoint solution in the market for virtualized applications.

What was announced today:

  • Citrix Workspace Services will be coming to Google Cloud Platform
  • NetScaler CPX now runs on Google Cloud Platform. Bringing the application load balancing and microservices features of NetScaler to the Google developer community to utilize containers and the Kubernetes orchestration system to easily build and scale secure applications in the cloud. NetScaler CPX availability in Google Cloud launcher targeted for the end of Q3 ’17.
  • ShareFile integration with G Suite enabling the secure sharing of files via Gmail and a ShareFile connector to Google Drive. Additional integrations will follow along with Google Cloud Launcher availability for ShareFile.
  • Additional enhancements for Citrix Receiver for Chrome, such as multi-monitor support are available now, to ensure Chrome OS devices remain a secure and easy-to-use cloud endpoint solution for the delivery of virtualized apps and corporate data.
  • Additional product announcements are expected to follow through Citrix Summit in early January 2018.

Today’s announcements along with the ongoing technical, product and marketing activities will ensure that Google and Citrix solutions work better together, and allow organizations to quickly, easily and confidently accelerate their secure cloud transformation.
