American English Hair Care

A quick shout out for American English Hair Care, a new hair brand heading our way imminently. Founded by Michael Kanyon (America’s Next Top Model), and Stephen Durham (Urban Therapy salons), it’s really spot on for the future of hair care. One, because it’s vegan, and two, because it’s not just a quick fix but a hair health improver over time.

I hate that they’ve had to use the word ‘youth repair’ because it’s so pointless (age doesn’t need repairing, it needs respecting), but was really impressed with the products when I tested them out. As you might guess, Michael is American and Stephen is English: they met on a shoot in the US. What’s going to appeal to many about this range is that there are no parabens, phthalates, or sodium lauryl sulfate. Ingredients are sourced ethically and even include quinoa! It could not be more made for millenials, who are ‘conscious consumers’ if it tried.

Never mind though that they’ve gone with the millenial trends – it’s like they had a tick list to be honest – the formulas are impressively packed with vitamins and omegas (from seaberry, baobab and quinoa) and so I can believe that if you’re prepared for the long haul that your hair’s condition would infinitely improve. It’s luxury pricing ($30 for conditioner) and we’ll have to wait a little while before we can easily source it in the UK, but I’ll flag it up when it arrives.
