The airports of Copenhagen to Aarhus, Denmark are only 84 miles apart. There isn’t a whole lot of time in-flight to worry about things like IFE or service. And, yet, somehow, SAS actually managed to provide service to the ~75 people on the CRJ-900 the day we flew. Sure, it was just coffee or tea, but they made two passes during the ~20 minutes in the air. I was impressed.
Also, with only ~20 minutes of fly time it was short enough that I could capture pretty much the whole thing as a time lapse video:
The terminal in Copenhagen for the domestic flights is pretty spectacular inside, at least aesthetically. There are no amenities of any sort, save for a few vending machines, but it does have a cool Scandinavian look to it.
Boarding means walking out to the plane; seems they don’t mind doing that in the winter for some reason.
And the flight was completely uneventful, other than my surprise that they were offering beverage service. Some stunning views, however, as we were flying around sunset across the bay. Seeing the island which sits in the middle of the tunnel between Denmark and Sweden was cool, for example. Ditto for the rest of the islands scattered in the bay and the snow everywhere.
Nothing special about the trip, but it sure was pretty.

Do you think that flying is quicker/easier than taking a train? Thinking of hopping around continental Europe and would like to know your opinion.
For this flight, the train is possibly quicker and easier, especially if the train deposits you in the part of town (downtown) where you want to be. It’s ~3hrs on the train, trains every half hour, 374DKK walk up fare, cheaper fares available for advance purchase.

@George- The train takes about 3h20m and is much more conveiniently located. The problem with flying is that the Aarhus airport is waaay outside the city. Also, the bus price to get into Aarhus is quite signifigant. –So neither option is fantastic.
We did consider the train but this was part of a larger itinerary and it was effectively “free” as part of round-trip, plus we started in Hamburg earlier in the day. We also picked up a rental car in Aarhus which we needed for our stay so there was that.
Did your gate in Copenhagen happen to be at the very end of that terminal? I was on that flight last October but was connecting from a US flight with only 30 minutes to spare. Worked up some sweat on that run. That terminal must be one of the longer ones out there relative to the number of people it serves.
Not quite all the way to the end, but close. It was quite a long walk to get there.
