And we’re back… After a long weekend away from blogging, I have a lot to catch up on. This weekend I was pleasantly surprised to notice a 500 bonus point offer from Amtrak. Through May 7, 2013, select targeted members may be offered bonus point offers to return to the rail.

Since I really enjoyed my first Acela First Class trip last year, I haven’t taken another train ride, but I can see myself back on the rails again soon. This targeted promotion was perfect timing.

Terms And Conditions

Bonus offer is valid on travel between March 8 and May 7, 2013. 500 bonus points can only be earned once. To qualify, you must register at AmtrakGuestRewards.com or by calling 1-800-307-5000. Reservations must include your Amtrak Guest Rewards membership number. Offer limited to member and member number addressed in this communication. A member may receive points only for his/her own travel, and will not receive points for trips purchased by the member but not traveled personally by the member. Points are not transferable and may not be combined with points from other members or non-members. Points can only be accumulated once for each trip, regardless of the number of seats purchased. Multiple tickets for the same train or individual train number, on the same day, will not earn points. Amtrak Guest Rewards points will not be awarded for cancelled or refunded reservations or tickets. Program points expire after a 3-year period in which no additional points have been earned on a member’s Amtrak Guest Rewards account for Amtrak travel. Other restrictions may apply.

Amtrak and Amtrak Guest Rewards are registered service marks of the National Railroad Passenger Corporation.

Bottom Line

I took my first Amtrak train ride earlier this year in the Acela First Class and really enjoyed it. Even though I don’t take an Amtrak train very often, I still find value in the Guest Rewards program.

If you don’t travel with Amtrak often, check your account, as this targeted promotion may be available to you.
