Klay Thompson has signed a 10-year extension with Chinese shoe brand Anta that will pay him as much as $80 million, according to a report from Nice Kicks.

Klay Thompson has signed an extension on his shoe deal with Chinese company Anta for a possible $80 million.

Thompson originally signed his deal in 2014 for $2 million per year until 2020 but renegotiated the terms.

“I didn’t know much about Anta,” Thompson said on the podcast Nice Kicks Cast. “One of my agent’s client’s, Rajon (Rondo) was with them, and he said this brand had incredible potential and that the Chinese market, as well, was something that I could really dive into.

“Knowing that these guys got my back and they want me to be a lifer, that’s special. Not a lot of guys sign shoe deals like this. I’m very, very happy to be with Anta.”

Thompson is in China this week on a 10-day tour and Nice Kicks reports "Thompson engaged with fans at a variety of events, whether it was a multi-story jam-packed mall appearance, an art gallery-themed showcase of his greatest shoes to date with the brand, or simply showing up to an outdoor court in Shenyang and surprising local kids by jumping into their pickup game."

This is the second time Thompson has been to the country touring with Anta, both times after the Golden State Warriors won the NBA title, Nice Kicks reports. He'll be hitting Chengdu, Shenyang and Guangzhou. He visited Beijing on the last tour.

Thompson averaged 22.3 points per game for the Warriors this season, shooting 47% from the floor and 41% from three-point range.

His best games in the NBA Finals against Cleveland were Games 2 and 3 when he scored 22 and 30 and shot a combined 19 of 30 from the floor, 10 of 18 from three-point range as the Warriors won the series in five games.
