Cherry Crest Adventure Farm launches its summer season with the grand opening of a newly designed corn maze on Saturday.

The “Charlotte’s Web”-themed adventure will take visitors through 2.5 miles of paths, scenic bridges and tricky turns in a 5-acre field of corn, according to a news release. Along the way, you’ll find hidden puzzle pieces, crossword puzzle clues, a Corn Café and more fun diversions.

Last year’s maze was ranked fourth in the nation by USA Today 10Best.

The 15-acre adventure farm also includes more than 50 family-fun activities, games and rides, such as pig races, a chick hatchery, pedal cart races, petting zoo and a wagon ride through Cherry Crest’s cattle, poultry and farming operations.

New attractions this year include a paintball range, Nerf ball battle zone, a twisted tail rope maker, country road carts and round bale racers.

Don’t leave without picking up a homemade cider donut! The farm also serves fresh-picked sweet corn roasted in its own husks, fresh-squeezed lemonade, kettle corn and other items.

Summer hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturdays. Admission ranges from $17 to $30.

Cherry Crest is at 150 Cherry Hill Road, Paradise Township, Lancaster County.

Mark your calendar for the farm’s seventh annual Facebook Fan Day on July 8 and Pedal Tractor Pull from Aug. 8 to 12.

Cherry Crest Adventure Farm’s new Round Bale Racer is trickier than it looks as it tests balance and coordination. With four lanes it can also turn into a fun competition among family and friends.
