Ohio corn 58%; soybeans 60 % good to excellent

Rainy weather and warm temperatures brought relief to much of Ohio’s crops, but also advance weed growth.  According to the latest weekly crop report 58 percent of the corn crop is rated good to excellent and 1 percent of the crop is silking.  Soybeans are rated 60 percent good to excellent with 96 percent emerged and 1 percent rated good to excellent. 

Eighty-six percent of the oats crop is headed.  Seventy-four percent of the winter wheat crop is mature and 10 percent is harvested.

Ninety-six percent of the first cutting of alfalfa hay is complete and 33 percent of the second is complete. 

Topsoil moisture is 92 percent and subsoil moisture is 93 percent adequate to surplus.
