337: Brent Harper’s 1961 Willys Truck
This was my grandpas Truck, and I got it from my aunt who had it. It had been sitting for 20 years outside at their ranch. It took two hours just to kill all the hornets living in it. A pack rat had made a home in the exhaust pipe as well. The Truck needed a new gas tank, hoses, fuel pump, and tires cleaned. The carb fired him up and the Truck is called bright eyes. The last photo is what the Truck looks like 8 years after starting the restoration.

To/For: Brent Harper. Brent, you’ve a real nice ’61 Willys truck there – an obvious keeper. Your Granpa done Right?? and your aunt ? did you a real nice favor for you, by retaining it and you Grandpa’s memory in tact for you! As you probably already know, while your ’61 is no speed record demon – it will out climb all of the “new” big boys, and it should go without saying; your ’61 Willys truck will definitely out work anything in it’s weight class, and Brent, go ahead – your ’61 Willys will be an excellent float pulling tractor in your home town’s next parade too! Go for it, Brent, do your family – Proud ?. – KevinP.
