A Fort Myers man led deputies on a pursuit by car and on foot around Golden Gate before being Tased on Thursday, the Collier County Sheriff's Office reported.

Deputies activated their lights, but Pavilus sped off and led them on a pursuit in residential areas at speeds exceeding 60 mph, the arrest report states. No one was injured.

A helicopter was called in to help pursue Pavilus, who left his vehicle on 41st Street Southwest and ran along a canal bank behind homes, the arrest report says. Deputies used an electric stun device on Pavilus once on his back, the report states.

Deputies said they sought a search warrant for Pavilus' vehicle after smelling marijuana and finding bags of heroin and cocaine they said were thrown out of  his vehicle during the pursuit.
