A man accused of killing his wife and five children in their North Naples home says he wants to represent himself and plead guilty, our news partner NBC-2 reports.

In this file photo, Mesac Damas enters a Collier County Courthouse room for his case management hearing on Friday, August 28, 2015.

Mesac Damas is charged with six counts of first-degree murder.

Attorneys were in court Friday for a motion hearing to tie up some loose ends as the September trial date gets closer, but near the end of the hearing Damas stood up, NBC-2 reports. Damas thanked his attorneys for their work, but said he has no use for them anymore.

"I would like to thank them for their hard work, but I would like to remove them from this case. I would like to present myself," he said.
