ATLANTA - Hot-hitting Eric Sogard is not in the lineup Saturday as the Brewers take on Atlanta again, a sign that his right elbow is still bothering him after being hit by a pitch Friday night.

Sogard could not swing a bat without discomfort after getting hit by Braves reliever Sam Freeman in the seventh inning. In a key situation in the eighth, manager Craig Counsell was forced to hit for Sogard with Jesús Aguilar, who did hit the ball hard but grounded into a 5-4-3 double play that allowed Atlanta to hang on for a 5-4 victory.

Sogard said after the game he hoped to be able to play today but obviously the elbow is still bothering him.

Right-hander Matt Garza (3-3, 4.42 ERA) will be on the mound for the Brewers. The Braves counter with veteran knuckleballer R.A. Dickey (5-5, 4.91), so the Brewers will be swinging at some dancing floaters today.

Brewers second baseman Eric Sogard hits a double in the seventh inning during a game against the Pittsburgh Pirates at Miller Park.
