Ritz-Carlton Announces Plans to Build Three Luxury Yachts

Ritz-Carlton Hotels, part of Marriott International, Inc. announced it is going into the luxury yachting and cruise business.

Named The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, the first of three luxury cruising yachts is scheduled to take to sea towards the end of 2019. Voyages will range from seven to ten days. When the first ship sets sail, itineraries will include the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, the Caribbean and Latin America.

By keeping the passenger count low, the fleet will be able to visit smaller ports that include Capri and Portofino in the Mediterranean to St. Barths and the old town of Cartagena in the Caribbean. Itineraries are being created to include overnight stays in ports.

These small capacity ships will measure 190-meters, accommodate up to 298 passengers, and feature 149 suites, each with its own private balcony. The yachts will also feature two 138 square-meter lavish duplex penthouse suites.

The new yachts will include a restaurant by Sven Elverfeld of Aqua, the three Michelin-starred restaurant at The Ritz-Carlton, Wolfsburg; a signature Ritz-Carlton Spa and a Panorama Lounge and wine bar. A wide variety of on-board entertainment will be offered.

Reservations will open in May 2018. If you’re so inclined, the ships of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection are also available for private charter.

As Robin Leach said, “Champagne wishes and caviar dreams.”
