Michael Kors Wonderlust Sensual Essence

Possibly I shouldn’t have chosen the hottest day of the year to review the Michael Kors Wonderlust Sensual Essence – just feeling human would be a plus right now, never mind sensual! But, on we go. It’s a new version that is very Jasmine-y – heady and sexy there is no doubt. It’s lightly woody with down notes of cashmere wood, suede and amber which does give a smooth finish to the jasmine and orange blossom middle. Top notes of Nashi pear, black cherry and peony were pretty much lost on me!

The funny thing about this fragrance is that it changes quite a lot once on the skin. The opener for me was a huge blast of jasmine, which I love, but not too long after the woods came through. It’s not as creamy as the original Wonderlust and generally it’s a bit more fruity but it would be a challenge to pick a cherry out of the notes. I guess it would fall into the sensual category because of the jasmine and orange blossom which can be heavy and heady. Maybe have a tester before you go for the real thing unless you know you love this kind of big, traditionally evening kind of scent. It launches on the 16th August for £46 (30ml).
