DO NOT USE, TOO LOW-RES

Milwaukee County deputies responded to calls about 10 p.m. Tuesday reporting a car going southbound on the northbound lanes of the freeway at Silver Spring Drive. A deputy stopped Albert Payne, 58, north of W. Hampton Ave. by activating her emergency lights while driving directly at him.

By then, Payne was then driving at about 5 mph, authorities said.

He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and tested 0.09 on a preliminary breath test, according to the sheriff's office. The legal limit in the state is 0.08.

Payne faces a felony charge of second-degree recklessly endangering safety and misdemeanor charges of possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
