Then, a terrific debate as Michael Tomasky -- also with the Daily Beast -- argues that the deal struck this week to avoid the so-called "fiscal cliff" wasn't bad, and AlterNet's own Joshua Holland thinks it's a stinker.

Finally, author and Nation Magazine columnist Katha Pollitt looks back at the battles feminists won and lost in 2012.
