Chambersburg woman, children injured in crash

Three  passengers in a minivan were injured during a one-vehicle accident Monday,  June 19, 2017 at around 10 a.m. in the 2800 block of Philadelphia Av., Chambersburg. Two patients were airlifted following the crash. One patient was transported from the scene while another flown from the helipad at Chambersburg Hospital.

According to state police, Crystal J. Hepfer-McCleary, 36, was driving a 2003 Chrysler Town & Country north at about 9:50 a.m. on June 19, when she crossed over the center left-turn lane and the oncoming traffic lane. Hepfer-McCleary then drove into the grass and struck a culvert, the report shows.

Hepfer-McCleary suffered possible serious injuries and was flown from Chambersburg Hospital to Hershey Medical Center. The 5-year-old child was also flown to Hershey for treatment. 

The 3-year-old child was taken to Chambersburg Hospital with moderate injuries. 

Hepfer-McCleary was cited with traffic violations.
