Authorities say a single-vehicle crash in Racine killed two people Saturday.

Racine police responded to the scene at the intersection of Erie and South streets. A preliminary investigation shows the vehicle was moving at a high speed before losing control and crashing into a tree.

The driver and the passenger of the vehicle were transported to a hospital in critical condition, but both later died.

Investigators do not know if drugs or alcohol were involved. The investigation is ongoing. Police did not release the gender or ages of the two or any other information.
