Lehigh man dies in early morning crash Monday

A 20-year-old Lehigh Acres man was killed in a crash early Monday in Lehigh.

The crash occurred just after midnight at Leonard Boulevard at Hightower Avenue South, Florida Highway Patrol reports show.

Erick Rosales died at the scene of the crash. He was not wearing a seat belt, FHP reports.

Rosales was driving a 2003 Dodge Intrepid southbound on Hightower Avenue South approaching Leonard Boulevard when he made a left turn onto Leonard into the path of another car traveling west on Leonard. The second vehicle, a 2013 Nissan Rogue, overturned from the crash, reports show.

The Rogue was driven by a Fort Myers man, Terrence J. Bright, who was seriously injured in the crash and taken to Lee Memorial Hospital. Two Lehigh teens, passengers in Rosales’ car, also had minor injuries and were taken to Lehigh Regional Medical Center.

FHP is further investigating the crash, the report shows.
