A man wielding a firearm engaged in a brief standoff with police Saturday night after refusing to leave the FBI building in St. Francis, authorities said.

Around 11 p.m., a 60-year-old man parked his vehicle near the guard shack at the building and refused to leave, demanding to see a woman who is not employed at the building, according to the release.

After a short standoff with cops from the St. Francis and Cudahy police departments, the man was taken into custody, police said. Cops recovered a gun after the man had tossed it onto the ground. No shots were fired.

The Milwaukee County District Attorney’s office will review the incident for potential criminal charges.
