Another homicide ups weekend shooting toll to 3 dead, 10 injured in Milwaukee
Milwaukee police are investigating 10 shootings this holiday weekend, including three homicides.
A 24-year-old woman was shot to death Sunday during a fight in a gas station parking lot at N. Teutonia and W. Hampton Avenues around 5:30 p.m. Shortly after the woman was found dead, police arrested a 23-year-old woman in the homicide.
The names of the victim and suspect were not released.
Other shootings injured 10 other people, including two children, according to a news release.
A 37-year-old Milwaukee man was shot about 1:40 p.m. Saturday in the 1900 block of N. 29th St. during an argument with a man police have identified. The victim died after being transported to a local hospital. Police are currently looking for the suspect.
In a separate incident about 10:45 p.m. Saturday, a 29-year-old man was shot in the 3000 block of N. 54th St. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police are still looking for a motive and potential suspects.
Two children were also injured in two different shootings.
Police are still seeking a man suspected of shooting a 7-year-old girl and a 27-year-old woman in the 3400 block of N. 67th St. Saturday afternoon.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the woman was arguing with the suspect when a gun was discharged, police said. Both victims were transported to the hospital.
A woman identifying herself as the girl's mother said Saturday that the child suffered multiple wounds, apparently from buckshot from a shotgun.

In another double shooting Saturday afternoon, an 8-year-old boy and a 27-year-old man were struck by gunfire in the 6200 block of W. Kaul Ave. after a fight broke out on the street, according to the release. Both victims were treated at a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Police are still seeking suspects.
Here are the other incidents, according to the release:
- A 26-year-old Milwaukee man was shot about 3:40 a.m. Saturday in the 2500 block of S. 13th St. during circumstances police say are still unclear. He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Police are still seeking a motive and suspect.
- Two men, 30 and 38, were shot around noon Saturday in the 5000 block of N. 22nd St. The men were part of a group that was fighting, police said. Both victims were arrested on tentative charges of recklessly endangering safety and for possessing a firearm as a felon. Detectives are seeking a third suspect.
- In a non-fatal incident around 8 p.m. Saturday, a 29-year-old woman was shot during an argument with a 33-year-old woman in the 2900 block of N. 17th St. The 33-year-old woman was taken into custody, police said.
- A drive-by shooting around 10 p.m. Saturday left a 30-year-old man with non-life-threatening injuries. Police are still seeking a motive and suspect in the shooting, which occurred in the 2400 block of N. Buffum St.
- A man was transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries after being shot about 2:40 a.m. Sunday in the 1900 block of S. 35th St.. The 25-year-old victim suffered a gunshot wound during a fight with multiple people, authorities said.
