Deputies: Biker sped off at 100 mph in Collier, ran out of gas in Lee

Jeremy Alan Pecararo, 25, of Fort Myers.

A Fort Myers man was arrested Thursday night when his motorcycle ran out of gas on Interstate 75 after he led deputies on a high-speed chase from Collier to Lee County, deputies reported.

Jeremy Alan Pecararo, 25, was charged with reckless speeding, fleeing or attempting to elude a law enforcement officer with sirens and lights activated, according to a report from the Collier County Sheriff's Office.

He was held by the Lee County Sheriff's Office for processing, the report states.

Collier deputies reported Pecararo was speeding and they tried to stop him at Pine Ridge and Livingston roads in North Naples about 9:21 p.m. Thursday.

But they said Pecararo didn't stop and sped west on Pine Ridge Road.

A Sheriff's Office helicopter followed Pecararo as he turned right onto Airport-Pulling Road, traveled north, turned right onto J & C Boulevard and then left on Taylor Road, authorities said.

Deputies in patrol cars picked up the chase as Pecararo sped on Goodlette-Frank Road at more than 100 mph before heading north on I-75, the report states.

Pecararo ran out of gas between Bonita Beach and Corkscrew roads in Lee County, deputies said.
