Semi-truck hauling beer crashes, shuts down part of Mitchell Interchange

A semi-truck hauling beer crashed Saturday morning on a Mitchell Interchange ramp, causing a partial shutdown of the highway.

The ramp from I-894 West to I-41 South closed at about 7 a.m. after the semi-truck overturned. Greenfield Fire officials reported the driver was evaluated at the scene and refused to be transported for further evaluation. 

Photos taken by Greenfield Fire officials show the truck turned on its side with significant damage. Beer cans were strewn along the highway shoulder and lanes.
