Spring at Voices College-Bound Language Academies is a busy time. Over the last nine months, IXL has become an integral part of the classroom experience at the K-8 charter school in San Jose. Keep reading to hear about the progress teachers and students are reading—or check out the video series about their journey here.

Many teachers have been using IXL for in-class practice, including teacher Ivan Luquin, who uses IXL to evaluate whether students truly understand concepts. Once students demonstrate fluency, he encourages students to further challenge themselves with more complex skills.

This comprehensive practice also prepares students for state standards and end-of-year testing. Teacher Perry Siniard uses IXL’s standards alignments to make sure that he is covering the skills and content that will appear on upcoming assessments.

The Real-Time Center in IXL Analytics has helped teachers Karissa Gonzalez and Vanessa Valenzuela allow their students to become independent learners, while also minimizing frustration by enabling them to immediately address students’ trouble spots.

Both teachers and students alike appreciate how IXL puts success into the hands of the students and makes learning a challenging and rewarding experience. We were delighted to hear from students Nigel Williams and Jose Equihua, who said they felt empowered after conquering difficult skills on IXL.
