Woman killed in fire at Milwaukee 'hoarder house' identified

A woman killed in a fire in her house, which officials called a hoarder house, was identified Wednesday.

Betsy J. Morrow, 62, was found unresponsive in her bedroom while her basement was on fire in the 8000 block of W. Mill Road early Tuesday. She died later at Froedtert Hospital.

Rescuers had to cut a hole from the bedroom into the living room to safely remove Morrow from the home because of a large amount of clutter and garbage, according to the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner.

Morrow lived alone. Her sister said she had not been allowed in Morrow's home for the last 10 years because of excessive amounts of clutter.
