SOFTBALL

Freshman Miranda Elish allowed one hit and host Oregon routed Wisconsin, 9-0, Sunday in the final of the NCAA Tournament’s Eugene Regional.

The game halted in the fifth inning because of the mercy rule.

BASEBALL

Joel Zyhowski’s two-run double capped a five-run second and led UW-La Crosse to an 8-3 victory over St. Thomas in the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional at Whitewater’s James B. Miller Stadium.

La Crosse (31-18) will play Concordia Chicago (32-11) on Monday at 10 a.m. If the Eagles win, the two teams will then play for the regional title after a 30-minute break. The Cougars routed the Eagles, 14-0, earlier Sunday.
