Instacart grocery delivery starts today
Too busy to get to the store? Have your groceries — and alcohol and pet supplies — dropped off at your door.
Instacart is now offering delivery service on the Space Coast from stores including Publix, ABC Fine Wine & Spirits, BJ's and Petco.
The process is pretty simple:
- Visit instacart.com or download the Instacart app to your smart phone and create an account.
- Enter your zip code, then pick a store.
- Add items to your virtual shopping cart.
- Check out and pay.
A personal shopper will fill your order. Items are delivered within a two-hours after the order is placed, or delivery can be scheduled up to seven days in advance, according to a press release. For an additional charge, your groceries can be delivered within an hour.
Regular delivery is $5.99 for orders more than $35 or $9.99 for orders less than $35. The cost is $7.99 and $11.99 for one-hour delivery. Annual membership plans are also available.
The service is also delivering more than 100 new jobs to the area.
