Welcome to your Morning Buzz, rounding up news and views regarding the Green Bay Packers and the NFL from around the web and here at PackersNews.com. Grab a strong cup of coffee and get caught up on everything you need to know about the Packers.

We’ll start with Tom Silverstein’s look at the addition of former BYU quarterback Taysom Hill.

From Tom:

As long as the Green Bay Packers have Aaron Rodgers, the quarterbacks they add to their roster will be backups looking to groom themselves for a starting job somewhere else.

Nevertheless, general manager Ted Thompson and coach Mike McCarthy haven’t been afraid of adding quarterbacks, either.

From Graham Harrell to Seneca Wallace to Scott Tolzien to Vince Young to Brett Hundley to Joe Callahan, the Packers continually have been looking for guys they can groom into starters, even if it means none of those appearances will be for them.

The offseason, and often training camp, requires a team to have four quarterbacks because you wouldn’t want Rodgers having to throw passes for the scout team. So even though the Packers have Rodgers, Hundley and Callahan on their 90-man roster, they signed BYU undrafted free agent Taysom Hill April 29 and auditioned Minnesota-Duluth quarterback Drew Bauer this past weekend.

The rookies showed up Friday for their orientation camp and fourth-round selection Vince Biegel promptly injured his hand and was forced to practice in a club the next day. Michael Cohen has the goods.
