MUFE Ultra HD Powder

I had low expectations of this – I’ll admit – because I don’t like powder. On my (older) skin, it’s a drying glow killer and there are very few formulas that don’t make my skin feel immediately tight. I’m also rather sceptical of powders that claim to make any significant difference in terms of ‘blurring’ or ‘halo effect’ – it’s such a fine coating of dust (synthetic mica, silicone powders and silica)  that it’s hard to believe that it can really do anything.

The MUFE Ultra HD Powder was created for the new breed of 4K cameras. I can’t even start to explain (I’ve had a look – it’s way, way over my head technically) but in very basic terms, they show every single pore, hair or speck of dust on your face. If you thought HD was unforgiving, 4K, in terms of highlighting detail, will blow your socks off. The Ultra HD is an upgrade of the HD range from MUFE and obviously more pointed to professional makeup artists who have the unenviable task of making celebrities look flawless in front of 4K cameras.

This is another product that I’ve been back and forth on, testing it over and over – all I can say is that it undoubtedly does give a perfecting finish. That halo thing. It just does. It’s light, silky feeling and not drying. If you love the minutiae of skin finishing, or you’re an ardent selfie-taker, I feel confident to say you’ll see the difference. It’s £26 HERE and there are three shades (I have Translucent).
