Firefighters are continuing their efforts to control the 30th Avenue Southeast fire, which began last week in Golden Gate Estates. According to authorities Thursday, the fire is still at 7,068 acres and remains 75 percent contained.

Greater Naples Fire Rescue sprays the flames as they flare up on Friday, April 22, 2017 in Golden Gate Estates. The fire is 5,500 acres and is 10 percent contained.

According to a news release, firefighters are working to improve the lines around the perimeter of the fire, dousing any remaining hot spots, and breaking apart and extinguishing several large mulch and debris piles that are burning internally.
